I Can't Breathe             

                                                            

I am Muslim and Pakistani girl .Who has been struggling for basic rights for years now.But i am facing a lot of problems.We need our rights in any situation.No one can scare us with a big draw.Sometimes we are silenced in the name of Islam. Too often we are silenced and intimidated in the name of traditions and values.How long will we continue to sacrifice in the name of tradition and religion?

I know that nowhere in Islam has a women been deprived of any rights.It is a cultural tool used against women.What are the reasons why a woman cannot get her rights?She can't go out of the house,she can't get education ultimately she can't get a good job. Just because of her gender? Does this society only promote men's right?Doesn't this society consider women as human beings?I live in a society where a man is allowed to raise his hand against a women at any time and women do not have the courage to speak out against these issues.Men have been given all the powers in this society.When men like it,they kill women in the name of honor.When they feel like it, they sell the girls.Men forces girls to do all the housework and marries them against their will.If a girl speaks for her rights ,She is either killed or burned.I have endured two attacks so far and I am still alive.No one can stop me as long as I am alive.I have to die to keep quiet.If i were alive, I would have been fighting for my rights and the rights of other girls.
